Boyce Avenue.

Must first admit that I didn't discover these guys by myself, but a very good friend turned me on to them. At first glance I just saw an artist who just kind of sang everyone else's stuff and it was somewhat of a bummer. But as I listened I couldn't but absolutely fall in a love with a pure talent. This voice is nothing short of absolutely amazing, and he shows you that those generic radio songs with the catchy hooks, can become wonderful when put in the right hands. So to give you a taste of the genius I thought I would give you two videos. One is very daring in covering the amazing Michael Jackson, and the other is a cover of Tracy Chapman Fast Car. Enjoy...

One Republic.

Ahhhh havent really checked in on this thing recently. But decided that I should kind of get some feelings out there. One Republic is band is an amazing band that I admire greatly, they put some pretty good stuff out there. But one song in particular has me going pretty good, and it just makes me look and say, all the little tiffs and the anger you feel just doesn't matter. It just doesn't matter. You can't control this world no matter how hard you may try, you can't control peoples feelings and how they feel towards you. You can only control you. Sometimes I look in the mirror and ask, "why do I care so much?" Because the good in this world is just to awesome to stop trying. Just going to do me, stop trying to control the world, open your eyes and enjoy it, the little anger you feel doesn't matter. Find something you believe in and never ever give up on it...

Ellie Goulding.

As my life has now completely turned to music, I'm trying to expand my horizons even more with what I find and listen to. Came across a British artist, Ellie Goulding. One of the coolest voices I have ever heard, while no official album has been released, everything I've heard I have fallen in love with. Thought I would give you two videos to listen to today, One a remix of Passion Pits Sleepyhead, Amazing Chorus, but since its not her song, I thought I would give you something she did write, Lights...

The Fray.

To kind of stick with the theme of last night, I was looking around my music library and I came across one of the my all time favorite songs. The Fray are one of the few bands that I actually started listening to when they first started. I have seen them grow in just two studio albums. But to really capture their genius and music talent, you must have a glimpse of them live. Since their worldwide tour has ended since the release of their self titled album in 2009 , we are just left with videos as memories. When I saw them live, I got absolute chills when the song Happiness came on. His vocals are so perfect for a song like this, and the emotion shines right through the screen. This song is so fun to sing with, but when you stop and listen its even more powerful. The Fray continue to inspire me as I move forward with life. Enjoy one of the most amazing and well thought out songs written. Happiness, By The Fray...

Matchbox 20.

It was less than two years ago that I started to really dive into Rob Thomas as a solo artist. As I researched his career and his influences I was able to make the very obvious connection between him and Matchbox Twenty. The fact that he was indeed the lead singer. So i said, why not give them more of a shot, there kind of mainstream like, but after listening to them a year or so ago, they absolutely belong. They are nothing short of amazing, lyrics are absolutely top notch with a deepness and thought. One song stuck out, 3 am. While catchy, when you dummy it down and listen to the lyrics you see a loving son showing his care for his mother and her cancer diagnosis. Not that I am in a somber mood, or anything truly disheartening has happened to me recently, I couldn't helped but be touched by this version of the song. What he says in the beginning is very powerful, so get lost in this one guys...its really amazing.

Fleetwood Mac.

Took a little time off from letting my thoughts loose on this thing. Spending time with family and friends kept my mind pretty occupied. Now that I am back at school, I can focus on music again.  The saying goes, "Respect your elders." So I would feel a little empty if I didn't give one shout out to one of the classic bands. I got a taste of Vampire Weekend's cover on Fleetwood Mac's song "Everywhere." I liked what i heard so i thought why not take a listen to the original. And my friends it is so awesome. Fleetwood Mac was as smooth as they come, no one can deny how easy they were to listen to. Whether a landslide was bringing them down, or thunder only happened when it rained, they always kept things loose and colorful. So to give you a taste of the amazing band that is Fleetwood Mac, I thought I would give you guys a soothing song, to kind of ease back into things, especially a new week, and use it as a way for me to kind of ease back in my routine that is college. Enjoy!
P.S. I will miss you guys! You know who you are, we will see each other soon!
