This is so awesome and creative that it hurts... This song pretty much repeats the same phrase, but im kind of addicted to it This is so relaxing, with a 90's michael jackson beat to it, relax... The biggest hit behind the dj set... Very difficult to remix MJ, but this guy pulled it off...

Bon Iver.

Sometimes you come across a song, and you almost feel like its directed at you. Bon iver is a band that I have yet to really dive into, but I'm getting there. I thank the Hype Machine for this find, this is just absolutely fantastic. His voice is different, but amazing, sometimes different is good. This absolutely moves me in ways I can't describe, which shows the real power of music. Here is I cant make you love me by Bon Iver lead singer Justin Vernon...

John Mayer and Jay-Z

Never been raps biggest fan, it just never really did that much for me. Some of it does appeal to me. But when you add my favorite guitar player with one of my favorite rappers, than you have the perfection that is this clip. Enjoy...

Till The World Ends.

PS. This is actually, really good...

RAC.

Happy Easter to everyone, took some time this weekend to chill with some awesome music. I came across an amazing remix of Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zero's song Home. It is absolutely beautiful, the best way to describe it. RAC is a remix artist who I have very little knowledge of. I have been able to start looking at him more recently, and let me tell you his remixes are amazing. He doesnt do to much to the song. He takes what the original gives him, he doesnt completely rework and change it, he just kind of goes it with. Which if you are wondering, is the best way to remix songs. Here is Home in an RAC remix, enjoy...

Give Me Every Helicopter.

While I have never been the biggest fan of the popular music scence, I must admit that becoming a DJ makes you have to take a look at some of it. With that being said, its not all terrible. Some of it is just complete junk, but there are the select few who are proving that they do have enough talent to be recognized. Popular music is changing. I heard a popular rap song featuring two amazing dj's/ produces. Look at me now (chris brown), with Diplo and Afrojack as the producers. Diplo is someone who I have decided to take a closer look at. So I thought I would give you two songs to listen to, one's going to be the next big popular song on the hit list, with a little bit of help from Afrojack, besides Pitbull (who isn't by anymeans dreadful) the song is amazing. Its called Give Me Everything Tonight. And to help give you a small glimpse of the amazing act that is Diplo, I give you Helicopter by Deerhunter, in a Diplo Remix. Check out this unique amazing beat in the background, enjoy...

The Hype Machine top 5.

Took another break off, been taking a little bit to many, but must be honest, not much is happening when it comes to rock music, but there has been a lot that has been happening with dance music and club music, so I thought i would share some of my favorites, from my favorite music website, The Hype Machine...

5. Hyper Crush - Sex And Drugs (Benny Benassi Remix) - This song is absolutely one of the funnest craziest songs I have heard in awhile. Global Dancefest is coming to KC in July, Benassi is the headliner so I thought I would check him out. You should as well...

4. Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are (Skrillex Batboi Remix) - This is song is one of the best songs to DJ, it gets the crowd pumped up, Skrillex took a popular hit, and made it 20 times better.

3. Michael Jackson - Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough (Gigamesh Remix) - Normally I say, never ever touch the king, but Gigamesh nailed it. One of the best remixes ever, it leaves you in suspense as to what the tune is, and when it comes up, people go nuts.

2. Katy Perry - E.T. (Noisia Remix) - Must admit that I saw this on a commercial for America's Best dnce Crew on MTV, something about those crazy people dancin robotically that makes this song that much cooler.

1. William Fitzsimmons - So This Is Goodbye (Pink Ganter Remix) - My new favorite song in the world, hands down, an amazing song

If you want to look at my whole library check out this website www.hypem.com/leftygolfer93

O and heres a little extra, he's back folks!

Coldplay.

Been a long time since I posted on here, because quite frankly there really hasn't been time/nothing to exciting has been really going on with music, as far as my favorite albums go. But however I thought I would write about something that I am very excited about for 2011. The release of a new Coldplay album. After the success and pure art of Viva la Vida, I can't wait to see what they have in store for us this time. So with all that being said I thought I would give you two videos, both of my favorite live performances by Coldplay. Clocks from their groundbreaking 2005 tour, live in Toronto. The Scientist from their Viva la Vida tour in 2009 live from Tokyo, Japan...

The Grammys.

Well when I watch The Grammy's I must say that I go in with sort of low expectations, being that the "talent" that is performing is just plain drag. But I still manage to watch, and I'm glad that I did this year especially. There wasn't really anyone I was looking forward to like in years past, which made things a little different. Take away Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Usher and a somewhat decent show was actually presented. Bruno Mars going Doo-Wop was amazing, really makes me want to see him get out of the pop game and start being more creative. Got to see one of my favorite artists play a small song with another favorite, Keith Urban and John Mayer, and some great vocal help from Norah Jones. While I am not a huge Eminem fan by any means, the respect I have for the passion and hard work he puts into his music is undeniable. The salute to the old artists was amazing, always respect your elders folks dont ever forget it. Mumford and Sons is kind of a new favorite now, a new and fun sound. Arcade Fire winning Album of Year was kind of in its own little way, a breath of fresh air. I didn't agree with every award, no one ever will, but Justin Bieber didn't anything, and that was so awesome! Maybe last night was a small glimpse of a movement in the right direction for this pop music, a very very small glimpse, we will see what happens. Theres some talent there, recording company's let them be creative, heres a new favorite, Mumford and Sons....

The Civil Wars.

The new month is kind of flying by and it suddenly hit me that I haven't written on here in awhile. Not to say I have been inspired recently, but there has been nothing that has taken my breath away, until a song I found last night. It is so unique and different, its a breath of fresh air. To amazing singers with soft instruments showing us what true voices sound like. Singing about how hard love can really be sometimes, so here you go, my new favorite song, Poison and Wine by The Civil Wars...

Boyce Avenue.

Must first admit that I didn't discover these guys by myself, but a very good friend turned me on to them. At first glance I just saw an artist who just kind of sang everyone else's stuff and it was somewhat of a bummer. But as I listened I couldn't but absolutely fall in a love with a pure talent. This voice is nothing short of absolutely amazing, and he shows you that those generic radio songs with the catchy hooks, can become wonderful when put in the right hands. So to give you a taste of the genius I thought I would give you two videos. One is very daring in covering the amazing Michael Jackson, and the other is a cover of Tracy Chapman Fast Car. Enjoy...

One Republic.

Ahhhh havent really checked in on this thing recently. But decided that I should kind of get some feelings out there. One Republic is band is an amazing band that I admire greatly, they put some pretty good stuff out there. But one song in particular has me going pretty good, and it just makes me look and say, all the little tiffs and the anger you feel just doesn't matter. It just doesn't matter. You can't control this world no matter how hard you may try, you can't control peoples feelings and how they feel towards you. You can only control you. Sometimes I look in the mirror and ask, "why do I care so much?" Because the good in this world is just to awesome to stop trying. Just going to do me, stop trying to control the world, open your eyes and enjoy it, the little anger you feel doesn't matter. Find something you believe in and never ever give up on it...

Ellie Goulding.

As my life has now completely turned to music, I'm trying to expand my horizons even more with what I find and listen to. Came across a British artist, Ellie Goulding. One of the coolest voices I have ever heard, while no official album has been released, everything I've heard I have fallen in love with. Thought I would give you two videos to listen to today, One a remix of Passion Pits Sleepyhead, Amazing Chorus, but since its not her song, I thought I would give you something she did write, Lights...

The Fray.

To kind of stick with the theme of last night, I was looking around my music library and I came across one of the my all time favorite songs. The Fray are one of the few bands that I actually started listening to when they first started. I have seen them grow in just two studio albums. But to really capture their genius and music talent, you must have a glimpse of them live. Since their worldwide tour has ended since the release of their self titled album in 2009 , we are just left with videos as memories. When I saw them live, I got absolute chills when the song Happiness came on. His vocals are so perfect for a song like this, and the emotion shines right through the screen. This song is so fun to sing with, but when you stop and listen its even more powerful. The Fray continue to inspire me as I move forward with life. Enjoy one of the most amazing and well thought out songs written. Happiness, By The Fray...

Matchbox 20.

It was less than two years ago that I started to really dive into Rob Thomas as a solo artist. As I researched his career and his influences I was able to make the very obvious connection between him and Matchbox Twenty. The fact that he was indeed the lead singer. So i said, why not give them more of a shot, there kind of mainstream like, but after listening to them a year or so ago, they absolutely belong. They are nothing short of amazing, lyrics are absolutely top notch with a deepness and thought. One song stuck out, 3 am. While catchy, when you dummy it down and listen to the lyrics you see a loving son showing his care for his mother and her cancer diagnosis. Not that I am in a somber mood, or anything truly disheartening has happened to me recently, I couldn't helped but be touched by this version of the song. What he says in the beginning is very powerful, so get lost in this one guys...its really amazing.

Fleetwood Mac.

Took a little time off from letting my thoughts loose on this thing. Spending time with family and friends kept my mind pretty occupied. Now that I am back at school, I can focus on music again.  The saying goes, "Respect your elders." So I would feel a little empty if I didn't give one shout out to one of the classic bands. I got a taste of Vampire Weekend's cover on Fleetwood Mac's song "Everywhere." I liked what i heard so i thought why not take a listen to the original. And my friends it is so awesome. Fleetwood Mac was as smooth as they come, no one can deny how easy they were to listen to. Whether a landslide was bringing them down, or thunder only happened when it rained, they always kept things loose and colorful. So to give you a taste of the amazing band that is Fleetwood Mac, I thought I would give you guys a soothing song, to kind of ease back into things, especially a new week, and use it as a way for me to kind of ease back in my routine that is college. Enjoy!
P.S. I will miss you guys! You know who you are, we will see each other soon!
